By Our Insights Desk
Our monthly feature The India Box Office Report tracks the performance of the various films released every month at the Indian (domestic) box office. Monthly reports are published on this website in the third week of the following month. This is the November 2025 edition of the report. You can access the previous reports in the Insights section of this website.
Cumulative Box Office: November 2025
Following the year’s strongest box-office month in October, November 2025 has emerged as the second lowest-grossing month of the year, recording ₹587 Cr in domestic gross box office collections, marginally outperforming March 2025 (₹580 Cr). This total includes projected revenues from titles still in theatres. Hindi films Tere Ishk Mein and De De Pyaar De 2contributed almost 40% of November’s India box office collections.

Cumulative box office for 2025 releases (Jan–Nov) stands at ₹11,657 Cr, which is 18% higher than the same period in 2024. Despite the underwhelming collections in November, big December releases Dhurandhar and Avatar: Fire and Ash put 2025 firmly on track to emerge as the highest-grossing year of all time at the India box office. The record is currently held by 2023, at ₹12,226 Cr (see Ormax Box Office annual reports for 2023 and 2024).
Top 10 Films
The chart below lists the top 10 films released in November 2025, based on their box office performance in India.

Tere Ishk Mein led the month with ₹143 Cr, and was the only title to cross the ₹100 Cr mark. De De Pyaar De 2 followed at ₹85 Cr. No other film managed to cross even ₹30 Cr in the month.

Hindi continues to dominate the list of 2025’s top 10 highest-grossing films, with five films in the list. The list also includes two Telugu films and one film each from Kannada and Tamil languages, along with the multi-lingual animated feature Mahavatar Narsimha. No international film features in the top 10 list currently, which is likely to change with the release of Avatar: Fire and Ash in December.
The top 10 films of 2025 are more diverse in terms of genres and themes (action, romance, comedy, mythology, etc.) compared to last year, which relied heavily on action and horror comedy.
Language Share
For language share calculation, language-wise box office of films releasing in multiple languages is assigned to the corresponding language. However, for International films (Hollywood and other global markets), the data for all languages is reported under the language head ‘International’.

Hindi language's share continues to be steady at 39%, followed by Telugu and Tamil, with 19% and 15% share respectively.
How to read the numbers in this report?
Different language industries follow different reporting conventions (Gross, Nett or Share). We have used Gross Box Office as the unified measure for this report. For films releasing in multiple languages, collections are added up across languages to arrive at the film’s Gross Box Office at an all-India level.
Some films may be running in theatres at the time of publishing this report every month. For these films, Gross Box Office is estimated based on the latest trends available. Hence, it is normal that some numbers may be updated in the following month’s report, once actual collections have been estimated.
Numbers for a film are assigned to the month of its release, even if the business is spread over two or more months. For example, Kalki 2898 AD released on June 27, 2024, and a sizeable component of the film’s business was registered in July 2024. However, in the analysis, Kalki 2898 AD’s entire box office has been credited to the month of June.
